Auburn police say the theft of three semi-trucks on Saturday was an “orchestrated” crime.
The semi-trucks were stolen from a warehouse parking lot in the 3900 block of I Street Northwest.
According to police Cmdr. Mike Hirman, video surveillance captured an image of a white van pulling into the lot where the semi-trucks were parked on Saturday. Later that evening, surveillance again showed the white van pulling into the lot. A short time later, the three semis — which did not have trailers attached — were driven from the lot together with the white van trailing them, Hirman said.
Hirman said one of the semi-trucks that was stolen was recovered at a site where police had earlier recovered other stolen semis.
“Our investigators are working on it now,” he said. “This was definitely something that was orchestrated and planned.”
