Fire destroys Ferndale fiberglass boat business

FERNDALE — A fire Thursday night in Ferndale destroyed the building that housed Northwest Marine Industries, a business that manufactured about three fiberglass sports boats a month.

The Bellingham Herald reports no one was hurt in the fire. The building was gutted by heat and flames.

Northwest Marine operated in the building about three years and employed about 20 people.
