Gun battle in Mount Baker neighborhood leaves cars damaged

Gunfire overnight in Seattle’s Mount Baker neighborhood left multiple cars damaged, but no reported injuries.

Police started receiving calls of shots fired at 10:30 p.m. Friday night in the 2100 block of 26th Avenue South. When they arrived, they found two abandoned cars with bullet holes — one crashed into a fence and the other in the street. Many other cars in the area also had bullet holes, police said

Police said witnesses reported seeing people from the two cars firing at each other, as well as a third car that drove away. Police say they did not see anyone in the vehicles or the surrounding area.

Officers found three people who may have been involved with the shooting, police said, but witnesses could not identify them.

Both cars have been impounded, and police ask anyone with information to please call 206-625-5011.
