No injuries reported in shooting near Judkins Park

Gang-unit detectives are responding to the intersection at 23rd Avenue South and South Dearborn Street, near Judkins Park, where shots were fired at 2:25 p.m. Monday.

Seattle police said one parked car was hit by gunfire, but there were no reports of injuries.

Police spokesman Drew Fowler said witnesses told police the shots appeared to have been fired from a passing car, but it is not known whether they were aimed at someone or something, or fired randomly.

Fowler said that 23rd Avenue was still closed at 2:45 p.m. while police finished collecting bullet casings, but was expected to be reopened soon.
