Man struck by Sounder train in Sodo in serious condition

The  45-year-old man who was struck by a Sounder train in the Sodo neighborhood on Wednesday night is listed in serious condition in the intensive care unit at Harborview Medical Center, according to hospital spokeswoman Susan Gregg.

The man, whose name has not been released by authorities, sustained heavy trauma to his body after being struck at Occidental Avenue South and South Horton Street around 6 p.m., the Seattle Fire Department said.

The train was traveling north from Tacoma to Seattle’s King Street Station and it initially stopped at the scene after hitting the pedestrian
