Marysville police say a man was killed early Tuesday after his Honda Civic collided with a utility pole in the 14100 block of Smokey Point Boulevard.

Police have not released a possible cause of the 12:20 a.m. crash or the identity of the victim. There was no one else in the car.

Police are looking into a report that the vehicle crashed after it was involved in racing.

“We are looking to talk with anyone who may have observed any racing or who has any other information to share that will assist us in determining the cause of this collision,” said Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux.

Lamoureux said that investigators shut down the roadway until around 8 a.m. to investigate.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Bartl at 360-363-8350.
