More than 100 cattle die after Idaho big-rig crash
The Associated Press
BOISE, Idaho — Authorities in southwest Idaho say more than 100 cattle died after a tractor-trailer flipped onto its side.
The Ada County Sheriff’s Office says two people in the cab of the truck were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following the Monday afternoon crash.
Deputies tell KBOI-TV that three cows died in the crash and dozens more died from injuries or after being euthanized.
Authorities say the driver appeared to be going too fast around a curve.
The cattle were headed from a ranch in the Idaho city of Kuna, near Boise, to a feed lot in Texas. No estimate was given on the value of the cattle.
