Pedestrian critically hurt in Renton hit-and-run
A pedestrian was critically injured Tuesday night when he was struck by a car while crossing the street in Renton.
The man was crossing Rainier Avenue South when he was hit by a white Dodge Caravan traveling north shortly before 8 p.m., according to the Renton Police Department. The driver continued north even after striking the man.
The pedestrian was taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
The car likely has damage to its front, right area and to the windshield, police said. Anyone who saw the crash in the 200 block of Rainier Avenue South or knows the location of the van is asked to call the police at 425-430-7500 and reference case No. 14-9991.
