Police catch breakfast-time burglar in Wallingford

Police caught a 34-year-old man after he walked into an occupied Wallingford home Sunday morning.

Around 7:30 a.m, the owner of the home in the 1200 block of North Allen Place was in his kitchen and was startled when a stranger walked in.

The intruder ran out. The homeowner called the police and gave officers a description of the intruder and where he was last seen.

Officers flooded the area and stopped a man matching the description near North 50th Street and Woodland Park Avenue North. After the homeowner confirmed the man’s identity, he was arrested.

The suspect was booked into King County Jail for investigation of burglary
