Police: Man shot in chest, leg in South Park

A man was shot in the chest and leg multiple times early Sunday morning in the South Park neighborhood, according to a Seattle Police Department blog post. Authorities are still looking for a suspect.

Officers were sent to 12 South and South Trenton Street after reports of an argument somewhere in the area, but when they arrived they were unable to locate the disturbance, according to police.  Worried residents called back a few minutes later after hearing gunshots, but again officers were unable to locate the incident, police said.

According to reports, police were still in the area 45 minutes later when a victim with gunshot wounds to his chest and leg approached the officers and collapsed.  Medics rushed to the scene and stabilized the man before he was transported to Harborview Medical Center with life threatening injuries, the blog post reports.

Officers scoured the area and collected evidence from a possible scene, according to police.  Anyone with information should call 911.
