Rock blasting on Snoqualmie Pass starting earlier next week

If you’re headed over Snoqualmie Pass next week, plan for slowdowns and closures for construction.

Rock blasting at the pass will be moving up to 6 p.m., according to a news release from the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT).

State and contractor workers will close Interstate 90 at 6 p.m. for about an hour  Monday through Thursday. During the closures, eastbound drivers will be stopped at Gold Creek (Milepost 56), and westbound drivers will be stopped at Price Creek (Milepost 61), according to the WSDOT.

Intermittent rolling slowdowns could cause 20-minute delays Monday through Friday during the day from Gold Creek to Price Creek. Drivers will also experience nighttime delays due to a single-lane closure through the same location.
