Teen arrested in Friday shooting in West Seattle

Seattle police have arrested a 17-year-old boy on connection with last Friday’s shooting in the High Point neighborhood in West Seattle.

The victim was shot in the leg during a fight involving up to 20 people in the 3000 block of High Point Way Southwest around 3:30 p.m., according to Seattle police.

The 18-year-old man was taken to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police identified the suspect shortly after the shooting and distributed a bulletin to officers. Officers located the teen on Wednesday and arrested him in West Seattle, police said.

The teen was booked into the Youth Service Center for investigation of assault and firearms charges.
