Teen driver texting when she strikes pedestrian near Arlington

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office says a teen driver was texting when she struck a pedestrian Saturday morning near Arlington.

The accident occurred around 8:45 a.m. in the 17100 block of McRae Road Northwest. The victim, a 63-year-old woman, was taken to Providence Medical Center.

The sheriff’s office says the driver, a 16 year-old girl, stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
