A 3-year-old girl and her 34-year-old father plunged 60 feet off a Bainbridge Island waterfront bluff Sunday afternoon, authorities said.
The girl escaped with minor injuries, but her father sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, said Jared Moravec, Bainbridge Island Fire Department assistant chief.
Authorities were told the girl went over the embankment first and was followed by her father, who was trying to help her, Moravec said.
The two victims were visiting neighbors in the 6300 block of Northeast Hidden Cove Road when the incident occurred just after 2 p.m. The girl was taken by ambulance to Harborview for treatment.
