Hope Solo can continue to play: U.S. Soccer says it’s standing by its decision to allow Hope Solo to continue to play while she faces domestic violence charges. Solo, the former UW soccer standout and a member of the women’s national soccer team and currently playing for Seattle Reign, is charged with two misdemeanor counts of fourth-degree domestic violence assault in Kirkland. The charges stem from an altercation with her half-sister and 17-year-old nephew at a family gathering last June.
So it wasn’t overloaded to begin with? The state ferry system now says the Bremerton-Seattle ferry that had to turn back in mid-August because it was overloaded wasn’t really overloaded. A clicker used to count passengers was broken. It only took them a month to figure that out.
When you’re told not to pet a bull moose, don’t pet the moose. A man was told not to interfere while a state Fish and Wildlife officer tried to corral a moose in a Spokane cemetery Sunday. The man, who wanted to pet the moose and take its picture, apparently ignored the officer and the two got into a scuffle. The man was arrested for investigation of assault, drug possession and resisting arrest.
