Woman critically injured in Bellevue hit-and-run

A pedestrian was critically injured after she was hit by a car that initially stopped but then drove off in Bellevue on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The woman was crossing the street at Coal Creek Parkway and Forest Drive when she was struck by a Porsche Cayenne, according to the Bellevue Police Department. She was taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening-injuries.

The driver of the Porsche initially stopped, but then fled northbound on Coal Creek Parkway, police said. She was taken into custody about three hours later.

Traffic was blocked for about four hours at the scene while officers investigated. Coal Creek Parkway reopened around 7 p.m.
