1 dead, 2 injured in overnight Belltown gunfight

Update, 7:25 p.m.:

One man was fatally shot and two others injured in a gunfight early Saturday in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood.

About 1:45 a.m. officers heard gunshots and rushed to the scene in the 2100 block of First Avenue. Officers found a 20-year-old man fatally shot, surrounded by shell casings; he was armed, police said.

Two other men, ages 19 and 32, were shot and taken to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have arrested a 21-year-old man believed to be a friend of the man who was killed. He was booked into King County Jail on investigation of possessing a stolen firearm.

Before noon Saturday, a man called Lynnwood police to talk about the shooting, Seattle police said.  Seattle police questioned him, and said in a news release that they “believe they have identified the involved parties.”
