15-year-old boy accidentally shot in Spokane

The Associated Press

SPOKANE — About a half-dozen teens were playing with a gun Sunday afternoon in Spokane when it fired and hit a 15-year-old boy in the chest.

Police say the boy was critically wounded. He was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center.

Lt. Rex Olsen was told the teens removed the gun’s clip but didn’t realize there was still a bullet in the chamber.

Police say the shooting was an accident. No charges are expected.

There were no adults in the house at the time.
