2 killed in pickup collision near Everson

EVERSON, Wash. — The Washington State Patrol says two men in a pickup truck were killed early Tuesday when it collided with another pickup that swerved to avoid a deer on Highway 9 near Everson.

Trooper Mark Francis told KOMO two men in a Toyota pickup died at the scene. Two other men in a Ford pickup that swerved to avoid the deer were not injured.

The patrol says there was some fog in the area and roads were damp at the time, about 5:45 a.m.
