Seattle police are investigating a report of a 9-year-old boy threatening a teacher with a knife.
Seattle police spokesman Patrick Michaud said officers were called to Gatewood Elementary School, 4320 S.W. Myrtle St., just after 2 p.m. for a report of the incident.
“The kid walked in and pulled a knife on his teacher. They were able to get the knife away, nobody got hurt,” said Michaud.
Because of the child’s age he will likely be released to the custody of a parent or guardian, police said.
A spokeswoman for Seattle Public Schools said the boy is a special-needs student. The child is being taken to a hospital to be evaluated, the district said.
