DOT: Another foggy morning, so slow down

aaaaafog

Fog over the West Seattle Bridge on Friday morning.

Update at 6:37 a.m.: DOT reports an accident on northbound Interstate 405 near the Coal Creek Parkway has caused a six-mile backup. The accident has been cleared to the shoulder, but the backup will remain for some time, DOT says.

A little patience — and a good pair of fog lights — may well be in order.

With Friday morning’s commute picking up steam, the state Department of Transportation (DOT) says fog will make for difficult driving conditions. The DOT is already reporting a few accidents around the Seattle area as more drivers head to work.

Like Thursday, the fog is expected to burn off later in the morning. Until then, drivers are advised to exercise caution.
