HONOLULU — The FBI says a Seattle man charged with the international kidnapping of his 9-year-old son could have sailed with the boy to Hawaii or other Pacific islands.
Jeffrey Ford Hanson set sail from Seattle with his son in early September.
The FBI doesn’t know where they went, but Coast Guard nautical experts say they may have traveled to the Hawaiian islands and beyond based on Hanson’s sailing skills.

FBI agents in Honolulu on Wednesday asked Hawaii’s sailing community to look out for Hanson’s 1976 White Cooper sailboat named “Draco.”
A federal arrest warrant was issued for 46-year-old Hanson last month.
Hanson is accused of abducting his son Billy, who was supposed to fly back to his mother in Pennsylvania on Sept. 4. The FBI says the boy never boarded the flight.
