FEDERAL WAY — A stubborn fire continued to flare up Tuesday morning, three hours after it broke out about 6:30 a.m. in a strip mall in Federal Way.
KOMO reports the building on Pacific Highway South houses a tattoo and piercing saloon, trophy award shop and martial arts studio.
The owner of the tattoo shop told KOMO that he was inside the building when the fire started. He smelled smoke and ran outside, then broke out the glass door of the trophy shop to let their pet cat out.
He said another tenant – a marijuana grow operation – occupied the basement of the building and there are suspicions that the fire started there.
There are no reports of injuries and no official word yet on the cause.
