TACOMA — A 39-year-old man was sentenced to life in prison without parole after pleading guilty Thursday in Tacoma to two charges of aggravated murder and one attempted murder.
The Pierce County prosecutor’s office says Aaron Lamar Livingston killed 25-year-old Andrew Giessler with an ax last May in Tacoma because he believed Giessler was in a romantic relationship with Livingston’s girlfriend.
Prosecutors say Livingston also choked his girlfriend, 40-year-old Julia Wheeler, who survived, and strangled her roommate, 60-year-old Denyse Marshall.
Then he took a kitchen knife and cut the throats of Giessler and Marshall, who died.
Prosecutor Mark Lindquist decided last month not to seek the death penalty in the case.
