Update at 6:18 p.m.: A man was arrested after he pulled a knife on a woman during an attempted carjacking in Sodo Wednesday afternoon, police said.
Police initially received reports that the suspect had pulled a knife on a bus driver, but those reports were unfounded, according to the Seattle Police Department.
Witnesses told police the man pulled a box cutter on the woman and then dragged her out of her car near Seventh Place South and South Forest Street shortly before 3 p.m. He was tackled by two civilians after he tried to run away and then held until police arrived. He was booked into King County Jail for investigation of assault.
The woman was not injured, police said.
Original post: A man pulled a knife on a bus driver in what officers believe was an attempted carjacking in Seattle’s Sodo neighborhood Wednesday afternoon, police said.
The man put the knife to the throat of private bus driver and then was either chased or ran away from the private bus at Seventh Avenue South and South Lander Street around 2:40 p.m., according to the Seattle Police Department. He was then tackled by two civilians before officers arrived.
He has been taken into custody, the police department said.
