Man shot during halftime robbery attempt in Auburn

A man was shot during a robbery attempt outside an Auburn apartment complex Monday evening, police said.

The 30-year-old man told officers he was returning to the Cedar Point Apartments, 2922 M St. S.E., with a pizza during halftime when he was confronted by another man who asked for his “stuff,” according to the Auburn Police Department.

When the man said he didn’t have anything, the suspect pulled out a handgun and shot him in the back. The man was conscious when officers arrived and taken to Harborview Medical Center.

The man didn’t know the suspect and wasn’t able to provide a good description, police said. The suspect remains at large.
