PORTLAND — Police say a 43-year-old man was stabbed and wandered bleeding through a downtown Portland park before dying on a sidewalk near City Hall.
The man was found early Thursday. Police said his last known address at a downtown residence. They didn’t immediately release his name.
Officers told The Oregonian that given the time and location, they suspect the stabbing involved people living on the streets.
Investigators said it appeared the man was stabbed near a convenience store and got a few blocks before collapsing at a corner. They said they followed a trail of blood through Chapman Square park.
The park is among plaza and open space flanked by government buildings.
A federal officer found the man.
