Mountlake Terrace police report 2 incidents of child luring

Two incidents of child luring have been reported in Mountlake Terrace in the last week, according to a news release from the city.

In both cases, drivers of vehicles attempted to contact students walking alone and offered them rides home, police said.

One driver was described as being a thin woman with brown hair driving a silver minivan. The other driver was a man in a black four-door Audi, according to reports.

Both children described the drivers as having Russian accents on the police reports, said Detective Dan MacKenzie of the Mountlake Terrace Police Department.

The two incidents are being treated as separate cases, MacKenzie said.

Police urge anyone who has a similar encounter or who observes suspicious activity to call 911 immediately.
