Teen seriously injured in Tukwila stabbing

A teenager suffered life-threatening injuries when he was stabbed Wednesday afternoon in Tukwila.

According to police, a Tukwila officer was flagged down just before 4 p.m. and alerted to a fight at nearby Cascade View Park. The officer was told that someone had been stabbed and that the assailant was running toward the Saar’s Marketplace,  3725 S. 144th St.

The suspect, a 28-year-old Seattle man, was seen running in the parking lot of the marketplace and arrested, police said. Officers recovered a knife  believed to have been used in the stabbing.

Other officers located the victim, a 16-year-old Tukwila boy who was conscious and responsive, police said. He had a stab wound to the chest.

The boy was taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Witnesses told police an argument between the teen and the assailant escalated to a fight. Witnesses identified the man who was arrested as the assailant, police said.
