Burn ban remains in effect for King, Pierce, Snohomish counties

UPDATE, Monday, 2:35 p.m. | The Stage 1 burn ban remains in effect for King, Pierce and Snohomish counties, according to the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency.

Seattle Parks and Recreation issued a reminder that beach fires at Alki Beach Park and Golden Gardens Park are prohibited until the PSCAA lifts the ban. Bonfires lit for on-shore Christmas Ship events also are banned.

ORIGINAL POST | Due to stagnant air conditions, the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency announced a Stage 1 burn ban, starting Sunday afternoon, for King, Pierce and Snohomish counties.

During a Stage 1 ban, no fires are allowed in fireplaces or uncertified wood burnings stoves and inserts. Fires are allowed in pellet stoves and inserts, and in EPA-certified stoves and inserts.
