Updated at 3:25 p.m.: Des Moines Memorial Drive between S. 200 Street and S. 202 Street was still closed at 3 p.m. and police said they did not expect it to reopen until around 6 p.m.
Updated at 12:03 p.m.: Des Moines police confirmed the man shot Wednesday morning has died.
Police are still trying to piece together what exactly happened, but they say the dead man was involved in some sort of fight with another man and was shot. The shooter then fled.
When police arrived shortly after the 911 call, they found four to five adults and the gunshot victim outside the home. Police say it does not appear that the victim or the suspect live at the home.
Police may release a description of the suspect and his car Wednesday afternoon.

Police were called to the 20100 block of Des Moines Memorial Drive shortly before 10 a.m. after a 911 caller reported that someone had been shot. Investigators confirm a man suffered a gunshot wound, but details of his condition were not immediately known, said police Sgt. Doug Jenkins.
