An Everett firefighter was arrested in Seattle and booked into King County Jail on investigation of communicating with a minor for immoral purposes and commercial sexual abuse of a minor, according to an Everett city spokeswoman and jail records.
Meghan Pembroke, a spokeswoman for Everett, confirmed the arrest of the 60-year-old firefighter and paramedic who she said has been with the department since 1991.
Pembroke said the man had not been on duty Wednesday, but has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation.
Numerous calls to the Seattle Police Department were not returned.
However, SPD spokeswoman Patrick Michaud told Seattle Times news partner MyEverettNews.com the firefighter was booked into the King County Jail Wednesday on suspicion of communicating with a minor for immoral purposes.
King County Jail records indicate a man who was booked into the facility shortly after 2 p.m. was being held on investigation of communicating with a minor for immoral purposes and commercial sex abuse of a minor. He is currently being held without bail.
