A 26-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in the beating death of his 8-month-old daughter.
King County prosecutors say Ahmed Ibrahim killed the girl in their Burien apartment and then told police his 2-year-old daughter did it.
KOMO-TV says the mother called 911 on Monday to say the girl was not breathing. King County sheriff’s deputies found a visibly battered girl. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The mother told detectives she left three young children with her husband to go to work. She returned home to find the girl on the couch with her father.
An autopsy found the girl had multiple skull fractures. The medical examiner’s office said it was unlikely the injuries were caused by a 2-year-old.
Ibrahim was charged Thursday. He is being held at King County Jail on $1 million bail.
ORIGINAL POST | Charges may be filed today against the father of an 8-month-old baby who died in Burien on Monday.
The baby’s biological father was booked into the King County Jail on Tuesday for investigation of homicide, said Sgt. DB Gates, spokeswoman for the King County Sheriff’s Office.
Major Crimes detectives from the Sheriff’s Office are investigating, because Burien is one of the suburban cities that contracts with the county for police services.
Gates said further details will be released when charges are filed.
