NB Highway 99 reopens after accident in Battery Street Tunnel

UPDATE, 6:24 a.m. | The accident in the Battery Street Tunnel has cleared and all lanes are open, but long delays are expected as traffic begins to clear, according to the Seattle Department of Transportation.

ORIGINAL POST | A collision at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday closed all northbound lanes of Highway 99 through the Battery Street tunnel in downtown Seattle.

Elsewhere, rain — heavy in places — was impacting traffic.

At 7 a.m., driving time from Everett to Seattle on Interstate 5 was 85 minutes, about 15 minutes longer than usual.

Driving time from Federal Way to Bellevue, on Interstates 5 and 405, was 80 minutes, also 15 minutes longer than normal.
