UPDATE, 10:20 a.m. |The parade is over, but downtown Seattle festivities continue with a Winter Village at Westlake Park and the lighting of the tree and the Macy’s giant star at 5 p.m.
ORIGINAL POST | Crowds are gathering in Seattle for the annual Macy’s Holiday Parade.
Marching bands, floats and costumed characters will escort Santa as he winds his way through downtown. The parade began at 9 a.m., but there’s still time to join in the fun. Here’s the route: It began at Seventh Avenue and Pine Street, moving west down Pine to Fifth Avenue, south on Fifth to University Street, west on University to Fourth Avenue, and then north on Fourth to Macy’s.
