3 people attacked with sword; Lynnwood man arrested

A 24-year-old Lynnwood-area man was arrested last night after attacking three people with a sword, sending two to the hospital, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspect was arrested at a home in the 13700 block of Fender Drive, where the attacks are believed to have taken place, the sheriff’s office said.

According to a news release from the sheriff’s office:

Just after 9 p.m., someone called 911 to report a man was in the street near the Fender Drive home, bleeding and yelling for help. The man, 29, was taken to a hospital with serious wounds to his neck and arm.

At 9:15 p.m., a woman called 911 to report that her grandson tried to cut her with a sword at the home on Fender Drive. The woman’s injuries were described as minor and did not require medical attention.

A third victim walked into a Dollar Tree store, 13619 Mukilteo Speedway, around 9:30 p.m. and asked for help for a large cut to his hand. The 40-year-old man told deputies he was at a nearby home when a man cut him with a sword. The man was treated at a local hospital for a hand injury.

Detectives are trying to determine the relationship between the suspect and the victims.
