Now, Sound Transit says Southline train service (Lakewood – Seattle) is back on for today’s special event run to the Sounders FC match. There is no Sounder train service Sunday between Everett and Seattle or Lakewood and Seattle.
Amtrak and Northline Sounder service between Everett and Seattle won’t resume until 7 p.m. Monday, after a mudslide of trees and debris fell onto the rail line Saturday night. BNSF Railway spokesman Gus Melonas said the slide, south of Everett, occurred about 5 p.m.
Southline service (Lakewood-Seattle) was canceled for Sunday’s special-event service to the Sounders FC match, after a a tree fell onto the tracks south of Tacoma Dome.
Sound Transit says riders from Everett who want to watch the Seattle Sounders and LA Galaxy match Sunday should take ST Express 512 from Everett Station to Fifth and Jackson. After the match, riders can take the 512 from Fourth and Jackson to Everett Station.
Melonas says passenger service between Everett and Seattle was suspended for 48 hours after the slide as a precaution.
