Plane at Sea-Tac scraped by fueling truck

A Delta airliner is being inspected at Seattle’s Sea-Tac Airport after it was damaged by a ground vehicle Thursday morning.

Passengers on the flight bound for New York’s JFK Airport were shifted onto another plane, and Delta spokesman Trebor Banstetter said they should face only about an hour delay.

Sea-Tac spokesman Perry Cooper said the airplane was hit by a fuel-hydrant truck, used to pump fuel from underground into the aircraft. He said the damage appeared to be only cosmetic and no fuel was spilled.
