Seattle gang blamed for Lakewood home invasion robbery

The Associated Press

TACOMA — Pierce County prosecutors say three members of a Seattle gang expected to find marijuana and cash when they targeted a Lakewood home for robbery, but it was the wrong house.

The homeowner was pistol whipped but was able to arm himself Nov. 18 and fire shots that fatally wounded one of the intruders.

Prosecutors say the other two left the body of the 19-year-old, Taijon Vorhees, in a Federal Way parking lot.

One suspect, 19-year-old Duprea Wilson, pleaded not guilty last Thursday to a dozen felonies in the incident and is jailed on $3 million bail.

The News Tribune reports the second surviving suspect, 17-year-old Qiuordai Lewis Taylor, pleaded not guilty Monday in Tacoma to manslaughter, robbery and other charges. He is jailed on $3 million bail.
