SEATTLE — Police say Secret Service agents who were in Seattle for the Oct. 9 visit of Vice President Joe Biden helped bust a suspected identity theft ring operating in a room at the Westin Hotel.
Police documents filed in King County Superior Court say a suspicious hotel security official notified the Secret Service of a possible security risk.
Agents and police detectives entered the room and arrested four people. Police also found more than 200 credit, debit and gift cards and equipment used to read and write cards.
KIRO reports the four are expected to be charged with identity theft.
