Shelters in Bellevue, Lynnwood open this weekend

The Eastside Winter Shelter for homeless men in Bellevue, Issaquah, Kirkland and Redmond is re-opening Saturday.

The shelter, which helps the estimated 500 men and women who sleep outdoors on the Eastisde, is at 1899 120th Ave. N.E. in Bellevue.

The shelter can accommodate 50 to 80 men and is open between 8:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. through March 31.

People interested in volunteering to provide meals should contact Andrea Liggett with Holy Family Church: andrea@hfkparish.org or 425-442-2712.

For Snohomish County residents in need of a place out of the cold this weekend, the Snohomish County Emergency Shelter Network will have emergency shelters open Saturday and Sunday nights.

Meet at Lynnwood City Hall, 19100 44th Ave. W., no later than 7 p.m. for a shuttle to the shelters. People can also meet at the bus stop by Trader Joe’s on Highway 99 and 196th Street Southwest by 7:05 p.m.
