Tornado warning issued for Pacific County

Update at 9:45 a.m.: The National Weather Service says the tornado warning for west-central Pacific County and northwest Wahkiakum County has expired as the storm has weakened.

Update at 9:33 a.m.: The tornado warning has been extended until 9:45 a.m. and now includes northwestern Wahkiakum County.

Original post: The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for portions of Pacific County.

The warning is for west-central Pacific County, including Long Beach, Ilwaco, Seaview and Oceanside, according to the Weather Service. The warning will be in effect until 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

The Weather Service said radar detected a severe thunderstorm, capable of producing a tornado, moving east from Long Beach just after 9 a.m.

There have been no reports of damage due to the storm.

In the Seattle area, heavy rains flooded several surface streets and prompted temporary freeway closures. The right lane of northbound Interstate 5 at Mercer Street in Seattle was closed due to water over the roadway.
