A woman was arrested after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend in a Mukilteo hotel room Monday morning, police said.
Police responded to the 3900 block of Harbour Pointe Boulevard Southwest after receiving reports of a disturbance coming from a hotel room at the location shortly after 5 a.m., according to the Mukilteo Police Department. Officers located a 28-year-old woman from Los Angeles in the room, where there was a trail of blood coming from the bathroom.
The woman told officers she had been assaulted by her boyfriend, who is also 28 and from L.A., according to the police department. She said she had used a small kitchen knife to fight off the man and that she had been hit in the face twice, but did not want medical attention.
About an hour later, a hospital called 911 to report that a man was being treated for a stab wound to his hand. Officers responded to the hospital, but the man had left after getting stitches.
When officers returned to the hotel, they learned the man was the one who had been attacked, police said. The woman allegedly tried to stab her boyfriend multiple times, but only succeeded in cutting his hand.
The woman was found outside the hotel around 8 a.m. and arrested. She was booked into the Snohomish County Jail on suspicion of assault.
