2 men rescued after boat sinks near Priest Point

Two men were rescued after their vessel sank near the mouth of Steamboat Slough in Snohomish County Tuesday afternoon.

The two Tulalip Tribes members were crabbing at the mouth of Steamboat Slough at Priest Point when the boat sank around 1:30 p.m., according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. The Snohomish County Marine Services Unit, with assistance from the Tulalip Bay Fire Department, rescued the two men less than half an hour later.

The two men were taken to a hospital for treatment of hypothermia, the sheriff’s office said.
