Woman falls from I-5 overpass near King-Pierce county line

A woman fell from the South 376th Street overpass into the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 near the Pierce and King county line Friday afternoon, blocking three lanes of traffic for about a half-hour.

The woman was transported by ambulance to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, said Washington State Patrol Trooper Chris Webb.

South King County Fire and Rescue units responded to the incident at about 2:20 p.m., and all lanes were again clear by about 2:45 p.m., said Doug Adamson, spokesman for the Washington State Department of Transportation.
