Issaquah middle school closed for third day following letter threat

Pacific Cascade Middle School will remain closed Friday, due to a threatening letter that was found Wednesday, according to the Issaquah School District website.

This is the third day of canceled classes.

Police continue to investigate the incident and a $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the apprehension of the individuals responsible for the note, the district said.

The typed letter was left outside a teacher’s classroom and threatened violence against four school staff members on Friday, according to the district. The note also contained unspecified threats of violence at lunch or during the school’s winter assembly on Friday and made reference to a firearm.

The district has not announced how the lost days will be made up. School is set to resume on Jan. 5.
