Man dies after car plunges into Pierce County’s Alder Lake
The Associated Press
EATONVILLE, Pierce County — The Pierce County sheriff’s office says a man has died after the car he was driving plunged into a lake south of Eatonville Tuesday night.
The News Tribune reports that another driver called 911 after seeing the vehicle partially submerged in Alder Lake.
Sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said divers, sheriff’s deputies and Eatonville fire crews helped pull the man from the water but he died at the scene. He was not immediately identified.
The man was alone in the 2010 Jeep.
It wasn’t known why the vehicle left the highway but Troyer says icy roads may have played a role.
