Pair of warm, wet storms headed for Washington

The Associated Press

Forecasters expect a rainy weekend in Washington as a pair of wet, warm fronts blow into the state on the jet stream.

The Weather Service forecasts more than three inches of rain in the Olympics and Cascades. Locally heavy snow is possible Saturday morning when the snow level is around 3,000 feet, but that’s expected to rise to more than 5,000 feet by Saturday afternoon in mild temperatures.

The weekend storm will bring mostly rain to Eastern Washington but little snow in the mountains.

Forecasters expect the above-normal temperatures to drop to normal cold by Christmas Day.
