Police investigate stabbing at Tukwila apartment complex

Update at 5:55 p.m.: Valley SWAT entered a Tuwkila apartment Monday evening and found that the suspect had fled, the Tukwila Police Department said Tuesday afternoon.

The suspect is not believed to be a direct threat to the public, police said.

Original post: Police officers responded Monday afternoon to a report of a stabbing in the 14200 block of 42nd Avenue South.

Officers contacted a 14-year-old male with a minor laceration on his hand. After learning that the suspect, a middle-aged male, had fled to a nearby apartment complex, officers “located the apartment where the suspect was last seen and took necessary precautions to ensure the safety of neighbors,” according to a news release from the Tukwila Police Department.

Valley SWAT was on location Monday.

No updates were available early Tuesday morning and the case is considered active and ongoing.
