Update at 5:35 p.m.: The search for the missing man has been suspended until 8 a.m. Tuesday, the sheriff’s office said.
Original post: The search resumed Monday morning for a 38-year-old Lake Forest Park man missing in Blackmans Lake, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said.
Volunteers and search-and-rescue personnel are using side-scan sonar, a pole camera and detection dogs in the search, the sheriff’s office says. The search is being hampered by low visibility at the bottom of the lake.
The search was launched early Sunday after relatives of the missing man called 911. The sheriff’s office said the man was last seen on Saturday by another fisherman at the lake as he was inflating a blue kayak in the parking lot.
Authorities on Sunday recovered a partially sunken inflatable blue kayak in the Snohomish lake.
Blackmans Lake, a popular fishing destination, has an average depth of 14.1 feet.
